The Southwest Virginia Alliance for Manufacturing, Inc. is a non-profit organization focused on supporting and strengthening manufacturers in the 17-jurisdiction region that is Southwest Virginia. We are made up of a group of manufacturers working with educational institutions, workforce development boards, state organizations, legislators, other non-profits, and the like to promote manufacturing and its growth in Southwest Virginia.

 is to establish and promote regional educational and economic development initiatives that create regional collaboration in support of manufacturing and its careers. 
1. Establish and promote regional collaboration in support of manufacturing and its careers as part of an educational and economic development initiative.
2. To redefine the image of manufacturing with young people, their parents, their educators, the community, and policy makers in a manner that increases the number of young adults and other members of the workforce who pursue manufacturing-based careers.
3. To close the skills gap for regional manufacturers by aligning educational and workforce training resources with the most pressing demands of area industry.

All SVAM programming is aligned with SVAM’s Strategic Plan to keep the relevancy of the organization and its initiative in tact. SVAM remains focused on the advancement and sustainment of manufacturing in Southwest Virginia.
Programs include things such as training for manufacturers (including the newly established Advanced Manufacturing Center of Excellence), networking events, changing the image of manufacturing, seeking grant funding for manufacturers to funds things such as training costs, workforce development initiatives, and a menu of benefits available to membership.
